Carol Freitas
Carol Freitas has served as the Westport Veterans Service Officer since April 2019, fulfilling her passion for supporting veterans and their families. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, she dedicated nearly six years to active duty and five years in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Her military service took her across the U.S., from Arlington, VA, to Yuma, AZ, and Tampa, FL, with assignments at Camp Lejeune, NC, Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Camp Pendleton, CA, and London, England. She also served overseas in Okinawa and Iwakuni, Japan, as well as in Germany during Operation Desert Storm, where she earned a meritorious promotion to Sergeant.
Carol resides in Dartmouth, MA, with her husband, Bob, and their three beloved fur-babies. She is a life member of the Greater New Bedford Marine Corps League, Women Marines Association, and the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA Chapter 207). Additionally, she is an associate member of the Westport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8502.
