Josh Rancourt, originally from Somerset, MA, now resides in New Bedford with his wife, Erika, and daughter, Nora. After graduating from Somerset High School in 2006, Josh enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. Following Basic Training and Airborne School, he was assigned to the 65th MP Co. ABN at Fort Bragg and deployed to Iraq in 2007. After his deployment, Josh re-enlisted and transferred to West Point, where he served as the driver/assistant to the garrison Commander and garrison Sergeant Major, as well as a desk sergeant at the Military Police station.
Josh later transferred to Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, where he served as a squad leader before exiting the Army in 2014 due to a medical retirement. He then pursued carpentry before using his G.I. Bill to earn a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State University, graduating with highest honors. After a successful career in sales, Josh transitioned into his current role as the Veteran Service Officer for the town of Somerset. He is a Massachusetts-certified VSO and is currently in the process of becoming accredited with the Veterans Administration.
