Kevin Serpa
Kevin Serpa currently serves as the Veteran Services Officer (VSO) for the Town of Swansea, Massachusetts since February 2018. A U.S. Army veteran and retired sergeant, Kevin brings deep experience and commitment to veteran advocacy. He previously worked with the Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program and holds a national certification in homeless veteran reintegration.
During his military service, Kevin deployed to Afghanistan where he served as a team leader managing entry and traffic control points as part of a special operations task force. He earned multiple commendations, including the Combat Action Badge, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, five Army Achievement Medals, the NATO Medal, and others. At home, Kevin supported domestic operations at the J3 Operations Center for the Rhode Island Joint Force Headquarters, playing a key role in coordinating emergency response during the Pawtuxet Blackstone Floods and Hurricane Irene. His efforts earned him formal recognition and a personal letter of commendation from the Governor of Rhode Island.
Kevin’s continued dedication to veteran welfare is reflected in both his professional work and community service.
